Nauseating Movie Scenes

This past weekend was long, sickly and I don't even recall some portions of it for reasons that I don't care to mention. After being in bed for hours, unable to get up and go on about my business as usual, I didn't even feel like trying to come up with some exhaustive, clever topic for today. So, this week's Monday Movie Meme theme is simple and easy: Regurgitation Nation!

Share on your blog or in the comments section, movies featuring scenes where someone is vomiting. The action can be the result of drinking, doing drugs, food poisoning, terminal illness, foul sightings or whatever else causes the movie character (or characters) to have a total gag fest.

Here are my selections for this week's Regurgitation Nation theme. Oh, and I'm skipping the photos for individual movie titles this week because, well, I just don't have the energy to post them right now.

Meet the Parents

The scene where an infant throws up directly in Greg Focker's face while seated at a dinner table is oh-so gross. Since Greg is a nurse, he's probably seen this kinda thing more times than not but it's not so pretty to experience first-hand -- talk about losing your appetite!

Menace II Society

I don't remember if drug dealer and all around hood gangsta Caine had some bad food or what caused him to be sick. What I do remember, however, is the scene where he is in the bathroom throwing up and his friends are outside making fun of him and suggesting that he may have HIV/AIDS. The scene is uber gross because director John Singleton has a medium to close-up shot of Caine with vomit dripping from his mouth while he tries to have a conversation with those nosy friends outside in the hallway.

Poetic Justice

In another John Singleton film, a group of friends who are taking a road trip in a postal mail truck have to pull their vehicle over during an argument with two of the passengers. One woman then scolds her best friend, who is throwing up on the side of the highway, after drinking too much alcohol.

What movie scenes do YOU recall that feature someone vomiting?

Hi Nicole,

Sorry I didn't quite make the Monday Meme, but if you're looking for additional topics, I thought this one would fit the bill: (URL REMOVED)

Eric T.,

I'm always on the look-out for new topics to use during future memes. I checked out your link and yes, drunken movie characters are definitely in a league of their own, especially in comedies.

Oh...this is one disgusting topic. May I throw up the following films?

- Bad Taste: Peter Jackson's opus to vomiting...and eating said vomit
- Trainspotting: Rummaging through a toilet that was just used, trying not to vomit, then falling into the toilet
- The Exorcist: Vomiting split pea soup? Yummy.
- Stand By Me: Vomiting at the pie eating contest? That scene still gets to me. Heh...
- Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life: "Just one mint? It's waaafer thin!"

Sorry for spewing out so many movies. I was just regurgitating my vast movie knowledge. ;-)

Herman mentioned the ones that came to my mind. Offhand I can't think of any more.

Oh Nicole. I can't even comment. LOL

Herman,

Spew away! Your mental movie database is always welcome here and as the saying goes...better OUT than IN, right? Stand By Me is such a classic! I must admit, however, that I don't quite remember that particular scene...now you have me wanting to re-watch that old flick and feeling strange that I'd be more focused on finding the vomit than the rest of the film.

Your Monty Python and Exocist selections have peaked my curiosities. I wonder if it's enough to convince me to actually check those two titles out for the first time. As if the horror genre wasn't already stomach turning. Ha!

Arlee,

It looks like great minds think alike :) If it weren't for Herman, I probably wouldn't even know about that Peter Jackson one called Bad Taste.

Maurice,

Glad to brighten your day with some laughter! Your willingness to read this particular nauseating post and its accompanying vomit inducing content is good enough for me so your leaving a comment to mention being at a loss for words is icing on the cake :) I'm sure if you think of something in the future, you'll be quick to share it with us.

Thanks for visiting, reading and commenting you guys. I apologize for my late response.

Team America: World Police. One of the funniest puppet films ever made and the scene where Gary comes out of the bar and vomits for like 5 minutes is just hilarious. This film really extracts the urine out of all that is American in true South Park style from the minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
