A Monday Movie Meme Quick Break

The Monday Movie Meme is going on a staycation this week and will resume with a new theme and topic on November 19th.

I’ve been away from the computer today more than I’ve been near it and honestly -- I’m tired. I am trying to turn in early, so I can be well rested and prepared for an uncomfortable day in the doctor’s office. In the meantime, may someone answer me this....

What is YOUR favorite or most memorable Monday Movie Meme topic/theme to date?

I really liked the "Books into Movies" and also the one about "Sequels".

Hmmmm...don't think I have a favorite. I've enjoyed the Monday Movie Meme all around because it makes me think about the movies I've seen in a different way.

Bev,

The "What's Your Story" theme about books made into movies not only reminded me of movies that I still need to watch for the first time, but also surprised me in finding out about movies that I didn't even know were adapted from books...such as "No Country for Old Men" and "Shooter." Thanks for commenting Bev. It's always a pleasure to hear from you :)

Angela Brown,

I'm so glad that you enjoy the Monday Movie Meme for making you look at movies from different perspectives. It's interesting to see how one topic or another can cause us to realize how much (or even sometimes, how little) attention we've paid to movies that we watch. I particularly like how the Monday Movie Meme also introduces us to movies that we are not familiar with...it's a fun way to learn about movies that we might be interested in checking out. Thanks for your comment!

I quite like the "Worst Movie Fathers" meme. That was a trip down memory lane.

And good luck on your doctor's appointment. Make sure s/he warms up the stethoscope before using it!

Sorry I haven't been by in a while. I've told you some of the reasons why and I guess I've been slacking off in blog visits all the way around.

The fact that I can't remember past blog topics brought up a topic for a future meme: Movies about people who lose their memories.

I don't think I can pick a favorite...it's been fun doing them all. I do miss the days when I could steal the IMDB pictures...just thought it added a lot to my posts...but alas...all that copyright stuff...

Herman,
Ahhh...the "O Father, Where Art Thou" one, yes! Can you believe it, I sorta forgot about that particular MMM theme. I'm glad you mentioned it though, because it now reminds me that I still need to check out Kevin Costner in 'Mr. Brooks.' -- one of your many great selections for worst fathers in film ;)

Thanks for the well wishes on my doctor's appointment; it went ok. What is it about those cold medical instruments ? -- as if patients aren't uncomfortable enough. Fortunately, my doctor is cool though. She tends to be mindful of warming up all of the things that are being put onto or into her patients' bodies. Oh boy, is this starting to sound a little weird? That surely wasn't my intention.

Arlee,
No worries. You already know where I stand on those reasons and that I'm behind you 100%. There are times when circumstances beyond (and even those within) our control cause us to have to take a hiatus from our regular activities no matter what they are. I figured that you would return to visiting when the time comes, when you are able. It's good to see you back and THANKS for suggesting a topic for a future Monday Movie Meme! You just saved me some time in trying to come up with at least one new theme for an upcoming week. Maybe I'll use it sooner than you think ;)
'
Tina,
Thanks for participating in the Monday Movie Meme. It's nice to know you enjoy the themes and activities each week.
About those pictures though -- What is going on with the photo concerns with regards to blogging? I've read a few different blog posts from several bloggers mentioning their refraining from posting photos. Did something happen? Did some kind of policy or law get changed or passsed recently, related to online content? I'm sooo out of the loop, so can you fill me in or direct me somewhere where I can find out more information about it?
